Schedule Conflicts¶
Serve checks two kinds of conflicts when a leader schedules a volunteer.
Unavailable-date conflicts¶
The event overlaps an all-day or timed unavailable period recorded on the volunteer's schedule.
Assignment-overlap conflicts¶
The event overlaps another active assignment for the same volunteer. The warning identifies the conflicting scheduling context so the leader can review it.
Enforcement and overrides¶
Leaders should resolve conflicts by choosing another volunteer or coordinating with the affected person. When an authorized override is available, Serve requires a reason and records the action.
An override means the leader has confirmed that the schedule is workable; it does not remove or hide the underlying unavailable period or other assignment.
When an event changes¶
Changing an event's date or time can create new conflicts for assignments that were previously valid. Event managers should review the displayed schedule impact and coordinate with team leaders before saving.
